Ron Palmer was hospitalized a week ago for pneumonia. Extenuating circumstances have prompted further medical evaluation by doctors at Fort Scott Medical. Rep. Shirley Palmer expressed gratitude that our county meeting for January was canceled. She has been without internet at her home, and hopes to have it repaired this week. If you feel the need to contact her, mail may be the best way to do so at this time.
As you know, the legislative session begins on Jan. 11, therefore, Rep. Palmer will be extremely busy between seeing to Ron's health and attending to duties in Topeka.

On a different note, Gov. Mark Parkinson's State of State address will be given at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7.
